This narrative of the wreck is now revealed as written by a junior officer on Matthew Flinders' HMS Investigator, Surgeon's Mate Robert Purdie (1780 - 1815). The narrative was originally published in eight parts in the Naval Chronicle in 1799 - 1818. This book has a new introduction and notes by Matthew Fishburn. Published to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the July 1814 publication of Matthew Flinders' "Voyage to Terra Australisâ.
