In den WarenkorbThe ability of adult Helix lucorum to follow skeleton photoperiod regimes of two 1-h light pulses in 24 h was examined, together with the effects of these on the animals' activity phase. The animals in all the experiments could be synchronized to skeleton photoperiods, and the mean peak of their activity depended on the time int…erval between the two light pulses. The phase responses of snails to the different skeleton photoperiods resembled those previously described for several species of insects. This study showed that a minimum night length is needed for H. lucorum to be able to retain its daily rhythmicity during the night, as has been previously proposed. 10 pp., 3 figs, gr. 8.
