First editions of these gorgeous Art Deco-era etiquette pieces and salesman catalogues intended to instruct the 1930s hostess in how to properly set the table for all occasions. International Silver was founded in 1898 and absorbed a number of New England Silver companies from the end of the 19th century up through the Roaring 20s eventually becoming the largest purveyor of sterling silver table settings and tableware in America. Barker Bros. was the famed Los Angeles furniture company founded in 1880, which became one of the region's biggest home-furnishing stores, eventually closing due to mismanagement in 1991.
