Some aspects of its relevance: i) It defied Censorship: Used a university press to bypass Brazil's military dictatorship; ii) Killed the Art Market: Swapped expensive art objects for cheap, democratized photocopies; iii) Catalog as the Art: The catalog was not a guide; it was the actual exhibition; iii) Pre-Internet Network: Connected 245 global artists into a physical, borderless social network; iv) Tech Pioneer: Used office copy machines to create raw, avant-garde visual poetry. Includes postcards, posters, information sheets, booklets, etc. Various mediums, including rubber-stamps. Artpool was a pioneering central hub and archive for Eastern European and global… Mail Art projects. Contents listed below relates to the five images of material. Image 1: Two Artpool letterhead printed pages (A4): one red, one green. Undated (circa 1980). Artists' stamp exhibition, 1981, printed green and black and white, verso shows façade of Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest, where the exhibition took place with description. PUNKANYAR, 1985, folded document printed black and white. Two blue on white printed postcards of Gygörgy Galánti self-portrait, 1976 - 1979. Folded green, yellow and black on white information sheet entitled 'I Like Your Works' hand-stamped and signed by Galánti September, 1990. Red rubber stamp on verso, 'Gayor Maurer Archiv'. Majority of items are in Very Good + / Near Fine condition. All items were bought directly from Artpool in the early 1990s.
