Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Induced mutagenesis was attempted in two paprika cultivars viz., KtPl-19 and Bydagi Kaddi at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India with gamma rays, EMS and their combinations were attempted. The mutagens employed for sensitivity studies were gamma rays (5 kR to 40kR) and EMS (0.05% to 0.5%). The LD50 values for the mutagens were initially worked by probit analysis. In M1 generation, a general decrease in mean values for most of the traits was noticed at higher doses of mutagens in both the cultivars with a few exceptions. In M2 generation, higher frequency of chlorophyll mutants was observed with EMS than in gamma ray and combination treatments. Occurrence of chlorina type was found. The gamma rays caused more viable mutations affecting plant stature, leaf modification, duration, fruit type and colour change followed by combination and EMS treatments. Moderate and low concentrations of mutagent treatments expressed tall and erect stature, dwarf stature, big and broad leaf, crinkled long leaf, upright and more number of fruits with varied fruit colour mutants like dark green, light green, dark red and orange in both the cultivars. 236 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Zustand: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Field experiments were conducted to evaluate the different system of irrigation, fertilization and biostimulant spray and its effect on growth, yield, physiological and nutritional parameters in Jasminum sambac cv. Ramanathapuram Gundumalli at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, India during the year fromm 2009 to 2011. Observations were recorded on the growth, yield, physiological, nutritional parameters and soil enzyme activity.Drip fertigation with 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizer (60:120:120g NPK/ha/year)in combination with foliar spray of humic acid 0.4 per cent and 3 per cent panchagavya at monthly intervals was found to be the best for J.sambac which showed improvement in growth, physiological, nutritional and quality parameters over other treatments. With regard to the post harvest chemical treatment, it is recommended to treat the flower buds with 4% Boric acid to extend the post harvest shelf life of J.sambac flowers.
