The life of 1958 Nobel-Prize winner Russian poet (author of Dr. Zhivago) is here illustrated with plenty of b/w photos of him and his contemporaries. Boris Pasternak was born in 1890, still a teenager during the Russian Revolution, he stayed on and suffered through the Bolshevik regime. Dr. Zhivago was not allowed publication in the Soviet Union but it was translated in several European languages at the time (cover flap). 143 p. with chronology, notes and index. Some foxing on endpapers but no markings inside. Olive green cloth with gold lettering on spine, in excellent condition. Yellow/orange dust jacket illustrated with 2 photos on front and black lettering. Another photo of Pasternak at home in the back of the jacket. Only tiny tears at corners and bottom of spine.
