leather_bound. First edition. Unpaginated. 14.5 x 16.6 cm. Celebrates the Ball Der Stadt in the year 1809 with twelve chromolithographic plates by Geyling, an Austrian painted and stage designer. The Wiener Werkstätte is this publication, one of the loveliest Viennese "dance-gift" of the period -- an outstanding document of the Viennese Art Nouveau. The expressive illustrations show scenes from the Viennese history. One tie lacking. Orig. white leather decorated in gilt, black and red. Aeg. Fine in slightly rubbed lettered and decorated box with white cloth tie.
