The magazine "Modern Criminalogía" was founded in 1898 by Pietro Gori, an anarchist lawyer and Italian jurist, exiled in the country after receiving a sentence of 21 years in prison as a moral responsible for popular uprisings, who arrived in Argentina that same year and allowed the spread of criminological positivism in the country. The first issue appeared on November 20, 1898 and was probably published in 1900. The vice-director of the magazine was Dr. Ricardo del Campo. The sections that can be seen are: judicial chronicle or criminal jurisprudence, student guide, foreign collaborations, human documents, bibliography, demonstration tables and general statistics summary. The foreign collaborators were the most illustrious representatives of the positive school: Enrico Ferri, Cesare Lombroso, Napoleone Colajanni, Raffaele Garofalo, Guglielmo Ferrero, etc. Among the Argentineans, the following stand out: Antonio Dellepiane, Francisco de Veyga, Miguel Lancellotti, José Ingenieros, Manuel Carlés and even some judges, such as Juliàn Aguirre, who was a member of the Capital's Appeals Chamber.
