At least six species of Epitonium sensu lato are found associated with mushroom corals (Fungiidae) off Ujung Pandang, Sulawesi, Indonesia. Revised descriptions of E. costulatum (Kiener, 1838) and E. ulu Pilsbry, 1921 based on type specimens and additional material are given. Four new species are described: E. hoeksemai, E. ingridae, E. lochi, and E. twilae. The true identity of E. bullatum (Sowerby, 1844), a species not associated with corals and not found in Sulawesi and nearby areas, is clarified. Examination of type specimens made possible the characterization of nominal species that appear to be either identical with or closely related to the fungiid-associated epitoniids found off Sulawesi. 13 pp., 48 figs, 4.…

A new monoplacophoran species was collected in the northern Atlantic Ocean, east of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of 2,162 m. It is tentatively placed in Rokopella, and named R. brummeri. The species resembles R. oligotropha (Rokop, 1972), but has a much finer and predominantly striated sculpture. The description is based on shell morphology only. 8 pp., 10 figs, gr. 8.…

A specimen of Architeuthis was caught on the Fladen Ground, c. 100 miles NE. of Aberdeen (Scotland) in 1982. The animal, a male with a mantle length of 900 mm and a minimum total mass of 18 kg, was probably mature. Some measurements are given and the occurrence of spermatangia (inverted spermatophores) implanted in the ventral arms of the animal is discussed. 8 pp., 5 figs, gr. 8.…

The radula of a specimen of Allaegopis spec. A was studied. Some detailed photographs could be made, illustrating that many rows of young teeth cannot function because they are not yet fully developed, whereas many rows at the opposite end of the radular ribbon are eroded, the last ones to such an extent that they cannot possibly fulfil a scraping function optimally any more. 6 pp., 7 figs, gr. 8.…

It is shown that the migrant species known as Styloptygma beatrix Melvill, 1910, is in fact the species Syrnola lendix (A. Adams, 1863), known already from the Red Sea. 4 pp., 4 figs., gr. 8.

The species of the Pyramidellidae collected during several expeditions in the south-eastern part of the North Atlantic Ocean are listed, with locality data, depth ranges, and notes on nomenclature, systematics and distribution. The samples classified with the genera Eulimella (partly), Anisocycla, Syrnola, Chrysallida and Odostomella are dealt with in this paper. In total 70 species are reported from the research area, 24 of which are described as new to science. A lectotype of Obeliscus gracillima Smith, 1872 (= Eulimella variabilis de Folin, 1870) and neotypes of Chrysallida multicostata (Jeffreys, 1884) and Jaminia obtusa Brown, 1827, are designated. New taxa: Tiberia minusculoides n. sp., Tiberia apicifusca n. sp., Adelactaeon elongata n. sp., Adelactaeon lilyae n. sp., Odetta dekleini n. sp., Odetta marci n. sp., Folinella holthuisi n. sp., Folinella moolenbeeki n. sp., Ondina mosti n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) duureni n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) romburghi n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) verhoeveni n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) brandhorsti n. sp., dostomia (Odostomia) dijkhuizeni n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) paardekooperi n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) schrami n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) boermani n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) kuiperi n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) meijeri n. sp., Odostomia (Odostomia) vanurki n. sp., Odostomia (Megastomia) desmiti n. sp., Odostomia (Megastomia) zijpi n. sp., Odostomia (Pyramistomia) fehrae n. sp., Odostomia bernardi n. sp., Odostomia dalsumi n. sp., Odostomia prinsi n. sp., Puposyrnola kaasi n. sp., Eulimella verduini n. sp., Eulimella robusta n. sp., Eulimella sinuata n. sp., Eulimella vanhareni n. sp., Eulimella tydemani n. sp. 57 pp., 68 figs, br. gr. 8. …

A new species of ovulid gastropod is described from Bali as Pedicularia vanderlandi spec. nov. It was predominantly found in shallow water on the stylasterid hydrocoral Distichopora vervoorti Cairns & Hoeksema, 1998. The snails are compared with type specimens of congeneric taxa and with material of Pedicularia pacifica Pease, 1865, which was found in shallow water on an unidentified Stylaster. Various notes on Indo-Pacific Pedicularia species are given in an annotated, preliminary check-list. Finally, the host relationships of Pedicularia are discussed in general. 21 pp., 26 figs, gr. 8.…
