Der gewichtige Band präsentiert so berühmte Aufnahmen wie die innige Umarmung zwischen John Lennon und Yoko Ono neben selten oder noch nie zuvor gezeigten Bildern. Einige ihrer gefeierten Gruppenporträts offenbaren erst im Extremformat ihre ganze Brillanz. Leibovitz' Fotografien sind intim und iconic zugleich, sie sind stilistisch variabel und tragen doch alle unverkennbar ihre Handschrift. Oft wird sie, vor allem von jüngeren Kollegen, imitiert - einen echten Leibovitz erkennt man aber auf den ersten Blick.
