Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is an in-depth analysis of the Roman Martyrology, a catalogue of saints and martyrs recognized by the Catholic Church. The author meticulously examines the historical development of the Martyrology, tracing its origins and evolution over centuries. Through a rigorous examination of primary sources, including papal decrees, liturgical texts, and historical accounts, the author sheds light on the criteria and processes involved in the inclusion and removal of saints from the Martyrology. Moreover, the book delves into the complex relationship between the Martyrology and the evolving understanding of sainthood in the Catholic tradition, exploring the theological, historical, and cultural factors that have shaped its contents. By providing a comprehensive and nuanced study of the Martyrology, this book offers valuable insights into the history of Christian devotion, the development of liturgical practices, and the role of the Catholic Church in the veneration of saints. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. …
