Il modo migliore per ricordarlo, oggi, è presentare le sue idee e le sue convinzioni. Questo volume contiene un discorso molto importante del deputato socialista, "Contro ogni forma di violenza", tenuto alla Camera dei Deputati il 31 gennaio 1921. Si tratta della prima analisi organica, non di carattere esclusivamente locale, attraverso la quale Matteotti denunciò il clima di violenza che si era instaurato in Italia. Questo discorso dà il titolo al libro, perché, mai come oggi, le sue parole meritano di essere sottolineate. Arricchiscono il volume altri due testi che analizzano la violenza fascista da angolature diverse, per riflettere sulle sue dinamiche e sulla sua natura. Il primo è la denuncia dello squadrismo nel Polesine, una delle terre in cui esso nacque e prese piede. L'altro si oppone all'eversione fascista contro le istituzioni, contro il Parlamento, contro lo Stato liberale, una volta che Mussolini si insediò al governo chiedendo i pieni poteri. Il deputato socialista sviluppa qui riflessioni sui concetti di democrazia e dittatura, ancora oggi molto attuali. Conclude il volume un acuto saggio del curatore, Davide Grippa, che contestualizza il rapporto tra Matteotti e la non violenza.…
