Op mynachtste jaar maakte ik verzen die beleefde gasten inverrukking brachten. Myn verstandelyke .vermogensswaren dan ook zeer zwak, zoodat er altyd boodschapjesnaar den onderwyzer werden gezonden om 't asjeblieftden jongeheer niet kwalyk te nemen dat-i z'n les nietkende. 't Kind had waarlyk z'n best gedaan, maar konmet den besten wil niet leeren.' Dit is n?g zoo. Niemand heeft besef van de zwakheid myner hersenen.Wat de meesten terstond begrypen, kost my weken,maanden, jaren nadenkens. Brainerd (1967) even mentions the possibility of giving 'a complete description of systems of numerical expressions in any language', where the transformation theory of number names provides a framework for discussions of a number of universals. He also refers to the advantages of completeness of descriptions being possible in these grammars.
