Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the complex relationship between the primary and secondary sexual characteristics of domesticated birds, particularly ducks and fowl. It explores how the removal of the ovaries in females and testes in males impacts these characteristics, shedding light on the nature of the ovarian secretion and its role in shaping secondary sexual traits. The author's meticulous research and observations challenge traditional assumptions about the relationship between these traits and gender, opening up new avenues of understanding in the field of avian biology. Through a series of carefully controlled experiments, the author demonstrates that the secondary sexual characteristics of birds are not solely determined by the presence or absence of gonads but are influenced by a complex interplay of factors. This book is a valuable resource for ornithologists, evolutionary biologists, and anyone interested in the intricate relationship between sex and physical traits in the natural world. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
