This book is a collection of interviews with those who knew Career best. Maryann Carver, his first wife, speaking for publication for the first time, tells of their twenty years together; and the writers who were among Ray's closest friends remember their dealings with him. They all recall his legendary 'Bad Raymond' days, and his 'second life' as a recovering alcoholic.
