Daugherty (1860-1941) served as Attorney General of the United States under Presidents Warren G. Harding and Calvin Coolidge. Daugherty worked as Harding's campaign manager at the Republican National Convention, securing his nomination as Attorney General. The Harding administration dealt with many controversies, including the "Ohio Gang" and the Teapot Dome scandal.
