Includes an original sketch, signed by Hemsley of 'Winnie', a character in the book. Hemsley [1877-1951] was a celebrated music hall and radio performer, hugely popular in his day. Raphael Tuck was just getting back on its feet after it's HQ was bombed in the Blitz. Using a popular radio personality would have been a conscious marketing strategy.
