Warum das Lehrbuch niemals fertig gestellt wurde dürfte für immer ein Geheimnis der Geschichte bleiben. Ebenso rätselhaft bleibt, warum auf dem einzigen Bild mit Andrew Taylor Still, dem Entdecker der Osteopathie und Gründer der American School of Osteopathy, der beschreibende Text an der Tafel fehlt. Die Tatsache, dass viele Hintergrundinformationen fehlen und damit eine genaue Beschreibung unmöglich machen führt zu einem besonderen Effekt: Die Bilder sprechen durch sich selbst.
