Each edition comes together with an audio CD, often including BBC recordings of full-length works. The first issue appeared in September 1992. Each issue contains a CD featuring complete works by the greatest composers, performed by world-class artists and ensembles. Although they lived and worked largely outside the mainstream of Lo…ndon's cosmopolitan musical life, their outlook was surprisingly broad. The present study reveals them to have been two of the most important provincial musicians of their age, who as composers contributed to all the main genres of the time except opera.
