A late nineteenth-century treatise on coarse fishing by the famous inventor of the Coxon Aerial. The original is almost impossible to get hold of, so this facsimile edition is a rare treat - and includes all the text and illustrations from the first edition, together with some wonderful Victorian advertisements. The chapters cover pike and pike tackle, how to catch chub, dace, roach, bream, barbel, trout, grayling and 'miscellaneous fish' (including tench, carp, eel, gudgeon minnow), 'Notes with respect to the hearing of fishes, etc', 'Anglers' railway privileges' and 'The Coxon Aerial Reel'. The book has 100 pages, 40 of which are adverts (everything from dog biscuits to cricket bats and tackle, including Allcock's Coxon Spinner, Hardy's 'Gold Medal' rods and Foster's Kill Devil.)
