This book recounts the fascinating history of tea drinking and the colourful development of the Trade. Tea races and tea rituals, intrigue and the Chinese Opium Wars, the Boston Tea Party, Japanese ceremonies and European fervour are all vividly described. The author then examines the tools of tea making (caddies, strainers and teapots) and how tea is grown throughout the world. The final chapter deals with the wide variety of Tea Blends that can be sampled and instructions for the 'perfect cup of tea'. The appendix contains songs, poetry and quotations about tea as well as some useful addresses for further information.
