Their journey followed the Santa Fe Kite-Shaped Track, a scenic rail route that linked major cities in Southern California. The journal provides a rare, firsthand account of California?s people and sights at the turn of the 20th century. The historical journal entries are annotated by Larry Burgess, Ph.D., providing additional scholarly context.
