Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good+. Illustrated by Will Grefe (illustrator). Hardcover; no dustjacket. Popular Edition in gilt at the tail of the spine. Copyright date is (1912) and the copyright page reads "Published January"; but this page is likely just reprinted from the 1st edition, and the book printed at a later (but still early) date. Bound in dark-green cloth with an illustrated paper image on the front board. The binding is very clean & bright, with just a bit of bumping at the spine extremities, and a bit of VERY light rubbing at the corner tips. The page edges are age-darkened, with a bit of rubbing at the corner tips and spine extremities. The paper illustration on the front board is surprisingly clean & bright, with just the slightest bit of rubbing. There is a (now chipped) mylar wrapper that must have been put-on years ago, that has protected the book. The spine gilt is bright. The page edges are somewhat age-darkened, and there is a small smudge on the bottom edges. THere is a previous owner's name inked on the front flyleaf, along with a 1913 date. Else the pages are clean. A nice copy. ; B&W Illustrations; 29A; 7-1/4" x 5"; 300 pages.
