Reinschrift eines Vorlesungsmanuskriptes mit Literatur- und Inhaltsverzeichnis. - Johann Nepomuk Mayrhofer (Lebensdaten konnten wir nicht ermitteln; der Vorname in unserem Manuskript irrig als J[ohann] B[aptist] statt J. N. gekürzt), wirkte als Professor für Religionswissenschaft und Erziehungskunde sowie Rektor am k. k. Lyzeum in Linz und war Domherr an der Kathedrale und wirklicher bischöflicher Konsistorialrat in Linz. - Nach seiner Emeritierung publizierte er seine Lehre unter dem Titel Die Erziehung des Menschen von seiner Geburt bis zum männlichen Alter (Wien 1846). Bereits 1815 ist Mayrhofer als Professor der Erziehungskunde in Linz nachweisbar mit einer Vorlesung aus der Pädagogik, basierend auf dem bis 1848 in Österreich verbindlichen, 1811-1813 erschienenen Lehrbuch der allgemeinen Erziehungskunde von Vincenz Eduard Milde (Intelligenzblatt zur Wiener allgemeinen Literaturzeitung, Nr. 15, April 1815, S. 116). Unser Manuskript dokumentiert demnach ein frühes Stadium der Ausarbeitung eines eigenen umfassenden Konzeptes von Erziehung im Geist der Aufklärung. - Einband (bes. Ecken u.
