Rare original 1882 April 13th issue of Vol. XIX of "The Journal of The Linnean Society: Botany," which contains Part 2 of Aitchison's, "On the Flora of the Kuram Valley &c., Afghanistan." The issue is in overall good condition with some signs of wear and age. It is illustrated with a folding map of Afg…hanistan and of 29 black and white botanical plates, a few of which are folding. The issue is softcover and bound in its original paper wrappers. The covers have some mild chipping and wear with a few small splits along the spine. The interior is lightly toned from age but is mostly nice and clean, though there may be the occasional page with some other kind of minor imperfection such as a light bit of foxing, minor spot of soiling or grubbiness, tiny chip or tear, creased page corner, etc. The last plate has a few small tears & some crease lines near the side margin. The issue measures approximately 8 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches.

Institutional stamp on the reverse of one map and the title page. A scarce and important account by the naturalist attached to The Afghan Delimitation Commission of 1884 -1885.
