Alternate illustrated title in front. 6 1/4" x 9 1/4." Pages [i]-[xxiv], 33-510 (main text), xxv-xxxix (back Index), presumed complete (appears complete but main text begins on Page 33). Many black-and-white illustrations, complete. Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning and two former owners' signatures on front free endpaper in black ink and pencil. Covers are clean and intact overall except for some chipping at head and tail of spine, tiny split at tail of front outer joint, light rubbing, and slight wear at corners and edges. A Very Good copy. In an introductory statement, author Elisha J. Lewis notes that in this Third Edition of The American Sportsman, "a number of illustrations have been added, and the text somewhat enlarged."
