Exterior shows wear and soiling with chipping to the cloth and edges, cloth is cracking at front and rear exterior hinges with the issue being most extreme for the rear board. Internal binding is good and text pages are tight, no hinge issues at boards or anywhere in the text area. Pages are toned due to age and there is moderate to heavy foxing present, with the worst being the end pages and pastedowns. Front pastedown shows remnants of a label and initials the upper left corner. There is some very light penciling on the second end page in the light pencil signature and 1844 date on the page opposite. No other handwriting was found in the book.
