Autor prisel do Prahy z rodneho Pavlikova v roce 1951, aby zde studoval na Vyssi skole umeleckeho prumyslu. V letech 1966 az 1990 bydlel na Novem Svete na Hradcanech a na tuto dobu ve sve knize vzpomina. S laskou vypravi o starobylych tajemnych zakoutich teto casti Prahy, vzpomina na lidi, se kterymi se tam setkaval a jejich tvare zpritomnuje vlastnimi kresbami.
