This book presents a historical and contextual study of the US Forest Service's rangeland datasets gathered from 1977-1980 and used in the 1980 RPA Assessment. The author provides an overview of the methodologies employed by a group of interdisciplinary experts tasked with evaluating grazing and browsing production. The assessment is examined and evaluated in light of three data sources: intrinsic relationships among variables as envisioned by the expert team, field data gathered from research plots, and the Soil Conservation Service's range site descriptions. The book reveals weaknesses in the methodology and the challenges of translating qualitative assessments into quantitative data. Despite these weaknesses, the datasets have proven invaluable for further analysis in the decades since their creation and remain an important resource for those interested in range assessment and management. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Fotografie
Vintage photograph from the 1970 film, showing actors Stella Stevens and Jason Robards taking direction from Sam Peckinpah on the set. With manuscript annotations regarding layout on the verso. A charming, surreal revisionist Western comedy, an unusual move for Peckinpah, as it was released on the heels of "The Wild Bunch" (1969), and just prior to "Straw Dogs" (1971), both famed for being the high spots of the director's famed odes to violence and male madness. Certainly, though, Jason Robards-in what many consider to be his finest performance-is as lost as any of Peckinpah's characters, but viewed from a different, more relaxed perspective. Set in Arizona, shot on location in Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.
Folder Brochure John Paul Pickens lived form 1937 to 1973 and was a leading figure in the early North Beach San Francisco music scene, roughly 1963, and the helping hand at defining the psychedelic rock scene. He died falling out of a hotel window during a supposed drug deal running from the police. This lovely memoriam pictorial brochure details the Pickens life, work, love and family with appreciations from Peter Coyote, David Meltzer, and with color photographs from the field. "This copy is inscribed to the poet Janine Pommy Vega, a friend of Pickens by his daughter Kay Anne Pickens. The memoriam was compiled with love by Kay Anne Pickens Solem and Cheryl Lynne Pickens Rubbo. There is a wonderful photograph of "Days & Nights" of Pickens in his bookstore in Portland 1959. Close to fine tall pictorial brochure with separate sheets.
