Tan cloth spine with small edge losses to paper title label which unfortunately has practically indiscernible lettering; patterned paper boards worn at edges particularly at corners. Deckle edges. Purple patterned endpapers. Slight toning at page margins with some scattered foxing; interior leaves are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Presumably this Christmas 1922 "special edition" precedes the Knopf trade edition; as is frequently the case with books printed near the end of the calendar year, the book's copyright is 1923.
