First edition thus (of a work first published by Benn Brothers in 1922 in a two-volume edition limited to 1000 copies). An octavo-size, sewn-bound paperback. Edges slightly foxed, and a little wear on the spine and extremities, otherwise very good. Well illustrated with 205 plates (b/w reproductions), 19 in colour, as well as drawings.

xvii+388+[viii]pp. 8vo Original wrappers, some wear to extremities. Black and white illustrations. A very good copy.

A reprint of the 1922 edition; a survey of Oriental carpets; the European carpets tend to be English, reflecting the authors nationality, and tenure at the Victoria & Albert Museum. The text is now somewhat outdated, but the illustration are of rugs which at least pre-date 1922. Book.
