Hardcover. Zustand: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Sydney Holland, 2nd Viscount Knutsford (1855 - 1931) was a noted hospital reformer and administrator, as well as a barrister. Through his chairmanship of the London Hospital, he did much to improve public health in the East End before WW1. This rare autobiography follows his life up to 1926 when it was first published (this popular 1st such edition dates from 1928). Hardback in mostly good condition, cover in black cloth with silver spine titles & impressed lines top & bottom. Cover slightly marked. Binding slightly exposed facing title page, otherwise firm.
