Large 4to., decorative green cloth-backed pictorial boards, featuring the two main characters along with a host of animals in the woodland; containing 6 wonderful dual-page pop ups with the running story beneath, all in full colour with additional moving parts to each image; covers a little rubbed and chipped at edges, some light spotting internally, mostly affecting the versos of images; all parts in full working condition with no restorations; a wonderful example. First edition of this charming children's pop up, printed in Czechoslovakia with designs by V. Kubašta. This wonderful story follows Tip and Top on their camping trip, introducing children to the animals they meet on the way, including foxes, badgers, deer, wild boar and even bears. The moving parts see the bears playing on a see-saw while Top scampers up a tree behind, and a plume of smoke from the camp fire revealing the character's tasty meal beneath. Vojtěch Kubašta was a Czech architect, artist and paper designer whose first fairy tale pop-up book - Little Red Riding Hood - was produced in 1956. This launched his lengthy relationship with the publishing company ARTA, and his designs were subsequently published in 24 different languages, selling 35 million copies worldwide. V.
