In den WarenkorbLeather. Zustand: Fair. Large folio (13.75 x 9.5 inches; 35 x 24 cm). An important early eighteenth-century scholarly Sammelband comprised of five separately issued works devoted to literary history, bibliography, chronology, antiquarian studies, diplomatic and civic history. The principle work is Petrus Lambeck's Prodromus Hist…oriae Literariae (1710), accompanied by his Diarium Sacri Itineris Cellensis and Fasti Pro-Consulares et Consulares Hamburgenses. Also present are Alexander Fiche's influential bibliographical treatise Arcana Studiorum Omnium Methodus et Bibliotheca Scientiarum and Johann Michael Heineccius's celebrated De Veteribus Germanorum Aliarumque Nationum Sigillis (1710), an important early study of seals, numismatics and diplomatic evidence, illustrated with engraved plates. The volume constitutes a substantial compendium of scholarly tools employed during the early Enlightenment, documenting the classification of knowledge, manuscript collections, literary history, municipal government, and the developing disciplines of bibliography and diplomatics. Contemporary full calf, spine leather lacking, exposing the raised bands and sewing supports; boards heavily rubbed and worn at corners. Despite the deterioration of the binding, the text block remains remarkably sound and well-preserved. Interiors generally clean with broad margins, scattered foxing and occasional dampstaining at upper edge (not effecting text of engravings). Early ownership inscription dated 1725 on one title page. A substantial and authentic scholarly compilation preserved in its original contemporary binding. Overall, a desirable example of an early eighteenth-century German Sammelband, uniting several notable works that frequently circulated independently.
