Sturdy, thicker book, quality light gray cloth covers, very bright gilt lettering on spine, 453 pages plus an extensive index. A frontispiece photo portrait by Matthew Brady. DJ price-clipped, dark gray background, an oval with photo portrait of General Lee at center front, a pattern border of stars to front and spine, white back lightly soiled with a list of titles in the "Mainstream of America Series." DJ has surface wear at top front tip, tiny and 1/4" tear at top front edge, a small chip to bottom front edge. DJ also has slight surface wear to spine top edge with micro-tears to spine top and bottom edges, tiny tears and micro-tears at top back edge with tiny near-chip. Fair DJ/Fine book.
