The book has a lean, and its corners are slightly bumped. Boards and spine are worn, stained and faded. Worst damage is to the spine, with top 25mm being completely worn off, and printing very faded. Tears between both sets of endpapers. Binding unhinged. Crease at bottom corner of back free endpaper. Some staining and foxing on edges, endpapers and some pages. Small tears on some pages. Sadly the final colour plate and frontispiece are missing from this copy, all other colour plates are present. "Herbert Strang" was a joint pseudonym used by George Herbert Ely (18661958) and Charles James L"Estrange (18671947). Pages bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to first and last few leaves and the odd handling mark to fore edges.
