The book has a subtle skew to the binding, mild bumps to the spine ends and cover corners, light rubbing with areas of staining to the covers, tape shadows to the tail of the front, and a touch of smudging to the edges of the text block. Overall, a solid, Very Good copy.

Stiles (1914-2008), a former Professor at Northwestern and alumnus of the University of Colorado, was renowned for his contributions to the American Educational system. He helped generate support for several key pieces of education legislation, including the National Science Act of 1958 and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, which he helped write. Author of "The Best Should Teach," Stiles devoted his life's work to the belief that "teaching is the preeminent profession because it nourishes all others and the total of human endeavors." Illustrated by Lori Musil. Covers show very mild wear. Interior is clean, crisp, tight & bright, other than author's signature unmarked. 300 pp. Approx. 5.5" x 8.5". A very nice copy.
