Paperback trade, very good condition, stapled pamphlet, colour photos, spine little rubbed, corner tips covers little scuffed, base spine covers & pages little creased. 14 pp. This pamphlet covers the early history of some of the buildings in Tasmania (mainly sandstone). The lack of experienced architects meant that the…early houses, storehouses and other buildings depended for their design, and often for their erection, upon the practical knowledge of the settlers themselves and such builders and masons as were available, both convict and free. Although much of the early heritage has disappeared there is an increasing appreciation of what remains, and an awareness that what remains must be cared for. Text and photos by Luckman.
