When finished in October 1980 this was intended to be the end of the series, but very soon Mr Lupton saw the need for more volumes and in the end at his death in 1996 he had issued a total of 25, with the series still incomplete (material had been put together for a 26th volume).…

Spine worn, creased, and discoloured; the previous owner has inscribed it "Bought from Lewis Lupton on the morning of Sunday May 5th 1968 after his sermon at Cockfield from Ezekiel Chapter 1 vs 1-14". This volume covers events from 1554 to 1560, events among refugees at Frankfurt, the rise of the Puritans, as well as a survey of Bible translations preparted in England and Europe in various languages before and during the 1500s. Also included is a flyer advertising an exhibition of Lewis and Joan Lupton's paintings at Chiswick Library which was ongoing when the owner bought the book; this was their second exhibition.…
