This study present a method of rainfall forecasting by developing an ANN- based model using major wea…ther variables such as dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature, relative humidity, pan evaporation, vapour pressure as inputs while the rainfall as the target output. As part of the ANN model development procedures, the data sets of 11956 data in the study area was partitioned into two parts with 70% of the entire data sets used as the training data while the remaining 30% used as the testing and the validation data. The proposed model has been able to predict values with suitable results. For the evaluation of the results and the ability of the developed prognostic models, appropriate statistical indexes such as the coefficient of determination (R2), the Root mean square error (RMSE), Mean square error (MSE), Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency (EF), Akaike information criteria (AIC), Bayesian information criteria (BIC) were used. The findings from this analysis showed that the ANN model 5-5-3-1 provides satisfactory results based on statistical indexes. 84 pp. Englisch.

In dieser Studie wird eine Methode zur Niederschlagsvorhersage durch die Entwickl…ung eines ANN-basierten Modells vorgestellt, das die wichtigsten Wettervariablen wie Trockenkugeltemperatur, Feuchtkugeltemperatur, relative Luftfeuchtigkeit, Pfannenverdunstung und Dampfdruck als Eingaben und die Niederschlagsmenge als Zielausgabe verwendet. Im Rahmen der Entwicklung des ANN-Modells wurde der Datensatz von 11956 Daten im Untersuchungsgebiet in zwei Teile aufgeteilt, wobei 70 % des gesamten Datensatzes als Trainingsdaten und die restlichen 30 % als Test- und Validierungsdaten verwendet wurden. Das vorgeschlagene Modell war in der Lage, Werte mit geeigneten Ergebnissen vorherzusagen. Zur Bewertung der Ergebnisse und der Fähigkeit der entwickelten Prognosemodelle wurden geeignete statistische Indizes wie das Bestimmtheitsmaß (R2), der mittlere quadratische Fehler (RMSE), der mittlere quadratische Fehler (MSE), die Nash-Sutcliffe-Effizienz (EF), die Akaike-Informationskriterien (AIC) und die Bayes'schen Informationskriterien (BIC) verwendet. Como parte dos procedimentos de desenvolvimento do modelo ANN, os conjuntos de dados de 11956 dados na área de estudo foram divididos em duas partes, com 70% dos conjuntos de dados completos utilizados como dados de treino, enquanto os restantes 30% foram utilizados como dados de teste e validação. O modelo proposto foi capaz de prever valores com resultados adequados.
