This is the life story of the first woman tiger trainer. She worked with the big cats from 1911 well into the 1960s, was mauled several times and lived a life considered 'wild' and 'eccentric'. She was married four or five times, worked for the main circuses at various times. A pioneer liberated woman. Jacket is chipped at spine extremities with nicks and some rubbing.

The boards are in good minus condition with edge wear, and some light soiling. The binding is tight and square. Stark was one of the most celebrated animal trainers in a field dominated by men.
