This copy differs from other copies that we have offered, in that while the color of the cloth appears to be the same this copy has a 1.5" x 2" diamond shaped imprint gilt stamped in the center of the front cover versus the pictorial imprint on other copies. This copy also lacks the advertisements after page 266, and it has different endpapers. We do not believe this to be a rebound copy. the binding appears to be "original". The author had a mildly optimistic view of the possibilities of the western range based on his travels throughout the western United States in 1882 and 1883.
