Maloney treats machine gun and trench warfare tactics not only in WWI Europe, but in other military contexts: the Russo-Japanese War, the Battle of Gallipoli, and the Boer War. Lead author Julian Hatcher went on to become a noted firearms expert, wrote several more books, and served as the Technical Editor of the American Rifle magazine.
