Mario was one of the Metropolitan Opera's most enchanting lyrical artists who started a second career as a writer and teacher. Death Drops Delilah is the last of the three mysteries she penned that blend music and murder. Front hinge is a bit weak, light toning to pages. Attractive copy of the famed soprano's first novel, a murder mystery featuring a female protagonist and set against the backdrop of New York's Metropolitan Opera. Mario had a successful career which included at 15 year stint at the Met, and would go on to write two more opera-themed mysteries between 1942-44. Her first novel is scarce in dust jacket, especially signed.
