Grand in-8, titre imprimé, (267) feuillets tapuscrits au recto seul et (7) feuillets de titres intermédiaires imprimés ; demi-chagrin à coins brun de l'époque, dos à nerfs orné de caissons de filets dorés. Tapuscrit original de la première monographie sur la Thomson-Houston de 1893 à 1937. Il est précédé…d'une lettre autographe signée de l'auteur à Gabriel Boreau, directeur général de la Thomson, datée d'avril 1944, qui fait office d'épître dédicatoire. Jacques Mars explique travailler à cette histoire de la compagnie depuis 46 ans. Il fut successivement chef du Secrétariat des Ateliers Thomson-Houston, chef du Secrétariat du Contentieux, Secrétaire général administratif, et enfin délégué du Conseil d'administration. Son travail fut, semble-t-il, imprimé tardivement en 1979 dans un ouvrage à usage interne intitulé Historique Thomsom : le groupe de 1893 à 1977. La Compagnie française pour l'exploitation des procédés Thomson-Houston, créée en 1893 à Paris, est la filiale française de l'entreprise américaine General Electric Company. Nationalisé en 1936, le Groupe électronique Thomson-Houston prend la dénomination de Compagnie française Thomson-Houston (CFTH) en décembre 1941.
