Hardcover. Zustand: Good. 1st Edition. The cover has red cloth. 20 short stories; 9 b/w illustrations. The publisher's (I) is on p. 235. The spine strip's cloth and letters have darkened; its top edge is a little frayed, and the bottom edge is less so. Three board corners are threadbare, up to 1/8 in. The text block ends have darkened. The non-print sides of the half-title page and the frontispiece have foxing. The frontispiece and the title page each have foxing in one corner. The pages have a light, musty odor. Scans e-mailed upon request.

There are a few scattered soil spots in the text. The front end paper has a school stamp and some other school notations. The hinges are cracked.
