Some scuffing and fraying along the extremities. Minor toning to the paper in the interior. Small area of dampstaining faintly affecting the lower margins of the last several pages.

Condition is Near Fine condition: exceptionally clean & bright, pages modestly tanned but completely unmarked, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Endpapers show darker offsetting & there is slight white staining & 2 tiny rubbed spots to outside lower edge of rear board. Corners crisp, though there is a bit of pushing to heel of spine. Black cloth; rear board rubbed with light staining; small cloth losses at frayed spine ends and board corners; spine's gilt stamping remains fairly bright; front board's Parrish-illustrated color pictorial paste-on well rubbed with some small surface abrasions. Gilt top edge; deckle fore-edge and deckle bottom edge. Some interior foxing mostly occurring to color plates' margins and their adjacent pages; scattered light soiling and stains. Some usual stress points at quires but binding remains fairly firm. Features ten stories adapted from "Tales of a Thousand and One Nights" including "The Story of Aladdin; or, the Wonderful Lamp," "The Story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves," and "The Story of Sinbad the Voyager" with twelve color plates illustrated by Maxfield Parrish all on unpaged leaves with captioned guard sheets (plus color title page and color endpapers). Book now presented in a trimmed clear Dura-Lar (polyester film) sheet forming a dj which enhances its shelf presence.
