McDougall's Geography of the British Colonies and India refers to educational textbooks, published around the late 19th/early 20th century, designed to teach children about the British Empire's vast territories, featuring maps and photos to illustrate imperial geography and promote colonial knowledge, a common practice in schools of that era. Not dated. Edition and printing not known. In good minus staple-bound blue card with black image of globe with two people sitting on top and strip with boats and a train to top with black titles. The covers are tatty, quite firm, with diagonal crease to front and a few marks. The text pages are illustrated with black and white photos and maps and with a twp page colour chart of the world. The pages are fairly secure, grubby, especially on the fore edge, with a few tiny blue marks and with small tear from the tail end to most pages. Not annotated etc. Good minus condition. Issued without jacket. Rare.
