Soft cover. Zustand: New. New condition color illustrated softcover wraps. Includes Dedication; Praise for Ferry Command (published 1981) and Don McVicar; List of Other Autobiographical Aviation Books by Captain Donald M. McVicar; Aircraft Flown By Capt. McVicar in Ferry Command Pilot; List of Illustrations; Preface/Author's Notes; Foreword by Griffith "Taffy" Powell; Index; and List of Ferry Command Aircrew in Ferry Command Pilot. Illustrated with black-and-white photographs. " McVicar was a skillful and courageous pilot and he and his colleagues completely satisfied the Allied requirement of getting much needed aircraft - the tools of war - to the battle front. Their efforts were a substantial aid to final victory." - Air Commodore Griffith "Taffy" Powell, CBE, RAF. "McVicar describes the people and places well and fits them neatly into the narrative. He is predominantly telling his own story, but as one of the very few accounts written of the Ferry Command in the first person, it is a valuable addition to the overall story of World War II aviation." - The AHS Journal, Canadian Aviation Historical Society. "This book is a labor of love on McVicar's part and one of the most fascinating sections deals with his key role in laying out the flight paths from Dorval to Goose Bay, to Baffin Island, to Greenland, Iceland, and Britain for the delivery of bombers in the early years of the war. For history buffs on wartime flying this is an intriguing volume." - The Montreal Gazette. Kazo, Donna Margaret McVicar (editor, designer, illustrator) (illustrator).…
