Two volumes are bound together, with individual pagination, and with each volume retaining its original title page and half title.The first work is the 1849 first edition of the allegory 'The Dark River', illustrated with a frontispiece. First published in 1845, this work is very scarce in early editions.The second work is an 1850 edition of the allegory 'The Vast Army', first published in 1847 and also very scarce in early editions.Two short allegorical works of fiction with a religious message by Anglican Rev.
